There was some things
I may not know
There are some places I can't go
But I am sure of this one thing
My God is real for I feel him deep within.
My God is real
He's real in my soul
My God is real
Glory has won and made me whole
His love for me is like your gold
My God is real for I feel him in my soul
I cannot tell ..
just how I felt when Jesus washed my sins away
But since that day, YES! since that hour
God has been real for I can feel his holy power.
Yes! My God Is real
He's real in my soul
My God is real
Glory has won and made me whole
His....... Love for me is like your gold
My God is real for I can feel him in my soul.

ABOUT JEREMIAH
"Thy Lovers Will Despise Thee"
The prophet Jeremiah portrays the kingdom of Judah
in the sixth century B.C. as a promiscuous woman, a
wife of Yahweh who commits adultery by worshipping
other gods.
"Thou hast played the harlot with many lovers,"
Jeremiah tells Judah, "and hast scattered thy ways to the
strangers under every green tree" (3:1).
Jeremiah also has choice words for the kingdom's males-
-they are "all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men"
(9:2), gathered "by troops in the harlots' houses," each
man neighing like a horse for his neighbor's wife (5:7-8)--
but the adulterous woman is the image that is predominantly
used. "Where have you not been lain with?" Jeremiah
asks Judah (3:2). "How can you say 'I am not defiled, I
have not gone after Baalim'?" (2:23). Jeremiah even likens
Judah to "a wild ass" in heat: "who can turn her away? . . .
in her month they shall find her" (2:24).
Yahweh asks the "backsliding" people, who have "wrought
lewdness with many" (11:15), to come back to him, "for
I am married unto you" (3:14); but because Judah persists
in her idolatry--committing "adultery with stones and with
stocks" (3:9)--as did her backsliding sister Israel before
her, Jeremiah prophesies disaster for Judah and her capital city.
"Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem!" (13:27) for the pain that is
coming will be like that of "a woman in travail"
(13:21; 22:23; 31:8; 49:24).
Yahweh, Jerusalem is told, will shame her, he will lift her
skirts up over her face (13:26). "In vain shalt thou make
thyself fair" with crimson dress, gold ornaments, and painted
face, the Lord tells the city, for "thy lovers will despise thee,
they will seek thy life" (4:30).
Just as Samaria, the capital of adulterous Israel, fell to
the Assyrians (722 B.C.), so the Babylonians "shall come
and set fire" to Jerusalem for her idolatry and other wicked
works (32:28-31).
Jerusalem is indeed destroyed (587 B.C.), with Judah's
leading citizens either killed or taken into exile over the
course of three Babylonian invasions. But to the survivors
Jeremiah, having foretold such destruction, speaks of
reconciliation and renewal. "Yea, I have loved thee with
an everlasting love," says Yahweh, and "will save thee
from afar, and thy seed" (31:3, 30:10); "ye shall be my
people, and I will be your God," and again "shall the
virgin rejoice in the dance" (30:22, 31:13).

When We Do without God
O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself;
It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.
Jeremiah 10:23
There is an important principle in the statement
that it is not "in" us who walk to direct our
own steps.
As created beings, we are not autonomous.
We are not a law unto ourselves.
Nor are we wise enough or strong enough
to do without God.
Even if it were objectively true that there
is no God, honesty would still suggest that
our difficulties are greater than our wisdom
and strength.
A century ago, many people had an unbounded
faith that it would only be a matter of time
until "progress" found a way to make everyone
in the world safe and happy.
Yet progress has not delivered on its promise,
and despite some improvements, our worst
problems are only getting worse.
When we try to "go it alone," the result
is bound to be either discouragement on the
one hand or pride on the other.
If we fail to be comforted by the availability
of God's grace, we bog down in despair.
But if we fail to be humbled by the necessity
of God's guidance and help, we bog down in
something even worse:
The illusion that we're doing better than we are.
So without God, the best we can do is to get
by for a few years living "on the surface,"
avoiding the harsh realities of life.
Since the greatest problems in life are insoluble
without God, if we exclude Him from our thinking,
then we have no choice but to exclude also the
problems that only He can solve.
Without God, we dare not deal with the ugly
realities of human life.
Or if we do deal with them, we must do so
in the pride of human self-sufficiency,
presuming to be able to accomplish what we
know deep down is impossible for us.
Either way, life ends up being much less
than it could be.
Jeremiah Was Right:
Our way is not in ourselves. It is not "in"
us who walk to direct our own steps.
And the recognition of this truth is not
weakness but strength.
O God of earth and altar
Bow down and hear our cry,
Our earthly rulers falter,
Our people drift and die;
The walls of gold entomb us,
The swords of scorn divide:
Take not thy thunder from us,
But take away our pride.

Faith and belief comprise a very important
part of our lives. A person's beliefs in many
ways define who they are -- how they see
themselves, what they want out of life, and more.
On this web site we will offer our personal
accounts of our own beliefs.
We'll describe how our beliefs have changed
our lives in profound and exciting ways, and how we think
they might change the lives of others.
We will also be sure to provide links to
our favorite sites as well as information
about organizations that help strengthen
or support our beliefs.
Thanks for visiting, and be sure to get

Why would a prison inmate escape from
prison the day before his scheduled release?
That's what a Rhode Island prison spokes
-man wondered as he answered questions from
reporters. He said, "For the life of me,
I don't know what possessed him to leave with
only one day of his sentence left to serve."
Once captured, the escapee would be arraigned
on charges that could land him back in prison
for up to 20 years.
Most of us probably would wonder about
the shortsightedness of this inmate.
But we might not be as conscious of our own
nearsighted approach to sin. We might not
see the absolute mindlessness of pursuing
a few moments of selfish pleasure in exchange
for lasting regret.
Jeremiah pointed out the folly of such actions.
us of how much we should respect God's power
(v.22), and that short-term pleasures will bring
long-term losses (vv.28-29).
Sin thrives on self-deception and doesn't
look ahead to the result (v.31).
Father, forgive us for being so stubborn
and blind. Thank You for making a provision
for our forgiveness. We realize that without
Jesus we would have no hope. Help us to do
what makes sense-for today, and for tomorrow.

O Lord,
Make me an instrument of your Peace.
Where there is hatred,
let me sow Love;
Where there is injury,
Pardon.
Where there is discord,
Unity.
Where there is doubt,
Faith.
Where there is error,
Truth.
Where there is despair,
Hope.
Where there is sadness,
Joy.
Where there is darkness,
Light;
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much
seek to be consoled,
as to console,
to be understood,
as to understand;
to be loved,
as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning, that we are pardoned,
it is in dying, that we are born to
Eternal Life.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do
not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous
