I know your Life here on earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain.
You weren't afraid to face the devil.
You were no stranger to the pain.
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son.
Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
I wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing
Go rest high on that mountain,
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and Son.
This is my Tribute to all of Our Veterans
that did not come home to their families, but
instead, went to our Fathers home.
There is no way for any of us to tell you how
much we appreciate the utlimate sacrifice you
gave for us and your Country. To you families,
and friends, I want to say from this American
citizen, my heart goes out to all of you.
You too gave so we might have our freedom.
To those Veterans that returned, without their
friends and brothers, your pain is one that no
one can heal. Not even time will erase the
memories, and horrors you had to endure.
On this one day of the Year that our Nation
Stops long enough to acknowledge Veterans
from all past, present and future. I wish to
be among the first to Thank you and Salute you
My wish for you is that you find peace of you
mind and soul. And I pray that you will again
some day be whole. And feel at home..
No Tribute would be complete unless we also
included the other Veteran's,the women of
the Armed Forces. The Nurses, and the Wives
Women serving in combat positions. And the
Mothers that gave...
Momma Is a Soldier
I woke up one bright morning
And I heard my momma say I heard her telling
Daddy That she had to leave that day I knew
that she'd be gone awhile. Just like she was
before... And I looked with love at her smiling
face as she walked out of the door.
Oh Daddy did the best he could. He was so good
and kind I think he tried to make up for
When momma left me behind you see she is a soldier
She must go when duty calls. But she doesn't know
I don't understand all those papers on the wall the
last time Momma left us my tears begin to fall
she told me not to cry for her to watch the papers
on the wall that she'd be back to love me and we'd
laugh and play again that she'd be leaving messages
until we'd meet again...
She loved to serve her country so I could be free
My momma was a soldier first and then a mom to me...
Now she is an angel...her plane crashed in the sea
She won't be coming back to laugh and play with me
Yes, Momma was a soldier she stood brave and tall
Now all I have to play with is her medal on the wall..

The Heart Of A Nurse
Nurses are compassionate and caring,
With love in their hearts for all.
Forever extending a heart of mercy,
Always there when there is call.
Endless hours they stand on their feet,
Wondering did I do my best to help this
patient get through this illness, ease
their pain so they can rest.
In their hearts you can hear God's whisper
Through a nurse he sends his love.
Ever sensitive, kind and caring, souls as
pure as a snow white dove. >Angel yes, she
tends to be, for her presence comforts me.
Concern for the sick shows on her face,
Her gentle touch, my fears erase.
by Pauline Hamblin
A Nurse's Prayer
Let me dedicate my life today to the care
of those who come my way. Let me touch each
one with healing hand and gentle art for
which I stand And then tonight when day is
done. O let me rest in peace if I helped just one

THE OTHER VET
I may not be a Veteran Of the United States
Armed Forces, But I am 'The Other Vet'.
I believe in our country and flag,
freedom and patriotism. Color guards in a
parade bring tears to my eyes as I place my
hand over my heart.
I watched Operation Desert Storm On television
with millions of others. I have seen the
Vietnam Memorial Wall. Both bringing tears to
my heart as I prayed for peace.
I am the daughter of a World War II Vet
Who was at Pearl Harbor, U.S. Navy.
I am the mother of a son, Desert Storm Vet
who is with the U. S. Air Force.
I am the aunt of three U.S. Marine Corp Vets
who honored their Country. I am the friend
of a U.S. Coast Guard Vet who was there in
Vietnam. I am the friend of a U.S. Army WAC Vet,
who was my room mate in college.
I treasure the heart pin made by the Navy Vet,
The memories, commitment of the Air Force Vet,
the pride I feel in the Marine Corp Vets,
remember the tears of the Coast Guard Vet,
and I will never forget the Army Vet.
I didn't wear a uniform, I didn't receive a medal.
I didn't have a rank, I didn't fly a plane, I
didn't navigate a ship, I didn't drive a tank.
But I have been "The Other Vet" since the day I was born.

If this page touched your heart, and I
hope it did, I urge you to when able to give
a Welcome Home for our Vietnam Vets.
I have alway's been aware of the fact
that our Vietnam Vets were not and ARE not
treated as they should be nor have they
been HONORED and WELCOMED HOME as they
should have been April 30, 1975.
We may not have won the war but they
certainly made the sacrifices that evryone
that has ever fought in a war had made.
The difference between our Vietnam Vets and
other Vets is they continue to fight their
battles to this day and have no one to share
their nightmares with. This Country owes them
the opportunity to find Peace here at home
and we MUST NOT continue to turn away.
I apologize for getting up on my soap box, but
these men and women deserve an APOLOGY and
WELCOME HOME and I will do whatever I have
to do to see they receive what they DESERVE.
Again, I thank you with all my heart for
your willingness to help make this happen.
God Bless You.
With Warmest Regards,
Kathie Audet - A Grateful American
*~*~*Ode To A Vietnam Vet*~*~*
You were young and so was I,
Way back when we were little guys.
We played our games of war and hate,
Not ever thinking of our fate.
You would run and hide,
I would look for you as time went by.
I would laugh about the win,
You would cry about the loss
Those were the days back then,
When we were young and innocent.
Time went on and we became older,
That's when we became much bolder.
We turned and joined the Marines,
Just to show that we were mean.
We went to a far off land, accross
to a place where there was no sand.
A place they called Vietnam.
We did our time and paid the price,
For something we thought was right.
Shots rang out in the night,
When I looked you where no where in sight.
You called out my name then layed still,
I tryed to help but I to layed still.
No more worries for you and I,
For now we walk and guard
The beautiful heavenly skies.
